She's the Boss: Contractor Selection
We may have touched on this aspect once or twice. Wallpaper has a couple of huge, and we mean huge advantages over paint! The right wallpaper in the right space establishes the presence of a room. Some would also say that it sets the mood. We like to think that when chosen correctly, it effectively enhances the main aspect of a room. Our best in class install projects flash when we work with a client or designer with the art eye.
This install is a reflection of the taste and style of an individual who has made a name with outstanding accomplishments in the corporate world. She has personally taken a sledgehammer to the glass ceiling which exists in business. I liken her Lisa Su (AMD) and Mary Barra(GM).
Adwoa Dadzie was a homeowner at 24, a six figure earner by 26 and a Fortune 50 VP by 34 She teases that with all her accomplishments, she still has a life and real friends. You can read more about her here.
Adwoa decided on print wallpaper which speaks to her confidence. Print designs can be difficult to implement into a room decor and will overwhelm if not used correctly.
Adwoa knew exactly what she was doing. Look at the contrast between the covered wall and the beautiful hardwood flooring. Then to further offset, a tasteful area rug was added beneath an elegant desk. The chair looks perfect empty but will complement Adwoa well when settled into. Beyond the wallpaper, her finishing touch and heart string puller is the desk lighting. We applaud the effort and say encore!

As you can imagine, hiring a contractor or installer is a very personal decision. Looking beyond price, a home or business owner must feel comfortable inviting another individual into their personal space. Personal spaces hold valuables, photos, and other priceless aspects of a persons life. Potential clients must decide from reviews, references, and gut feeling whether or not to trust the contractor.
This is where we win. We enjoy meeting and forming bonds with fantastic people. The Exclusive Wallcovering experience from start to finish is handled by one individual. Oftentimes a larger contracting service will have one person for estimates and unknown lackeys for the work aspect. The evaluation process may need to be restarted if that is indeed the case.
Ms. Dadzie is special. She was a pleasure to work with and humble in the face of being an individual of some note. After the install, she willingly assisted with removal of tools from the office location on the 3rd floor. As we leave her estate, we are left wondering...Does the person make the room or the room make the person? In our opinion, once Adwoa steps behind the desk, that conversation is over. We hope to see her again and salute her efforts to go beyond. Adieu for now but hopefully not forever Ms. Dadzie.
